The Spartans gave up five goals in the second period – with three of them coming on the man disadvantage. TWU committed four penalties in the period to total eight PIMs.

QUOTABLE
Ben Walter – TWU Head Coach
"I thought we played well for 40 minutes. The first period was great – we pushed and had some big chances. We were undisciplined in the second period and they [MacEwan] made us pay, taking the game from us in a 10-minute stretch. I think we can play with this team, but we have to take care of some little things first.
"
Josiah Vanderhooft (East St. Paul, Man.) played well tonight. He has been working hard all year to find his place in the lineup as a first-year. I was impressed in the way he played."
NOTABLE
• First-year defenceman
Nicksha Eric (Fort McMurray, Alta.) earned his first Canada West point on DuBois' goal. Eric has played five games in his first season with the Spartans.
• DuBois now holds a five-game point-streak, tallying eight through the stretch.
