LANGLEY, B.C. – Playing in a post-Christmas exhibition, Trinity Western earned an 86-75 win over Thomson Rivers Saturday afternoon at the Langley Events Centre. 

The Spartans are now 5-3 in exhibition action this season, having posted a 4-3 record in preseason action.

"It was a nice team win for us today. I thought we had a number of guys step up and play well. Juice (Belvin) was fantastic and made some big time plays on the offensive end. Turnovers have been an issue for us all season, so it was nice to have a game where we didn't turn the ball over a bunch. The last four games we played, we struggled to close them out, so it was good to have a game where we have a solid fourth quarter and get a win."

•    The Spartans and WolfPack split their Canada West weekend series earlier this year, with TWU winning 91-86 before a 79-62 loss in Kamloops, B.C.
•    TWU beat TRU 89-78 in a post-Christmas exhibition last year (Dec. 31, 2022).

The Spartans return to Canada West action Jan. 5-6 when they travel to take on No. 4-ranked UBC.
