LANGLEY, B.C. – Playing in a rare July contest, Trinity Western dropped a 134-70 decision against a highly-touted Boise State side Monday at the Langley Events Centre.
Boise State, who played in the NCAA Tournament last year and are primed for an even better season in 2023-24, were led by freshman Andrew Meadow, who collected 31 points for the Broncos, while Chibuzo Agbo added 22.
David Mutabazi (Delta, B.C.) led TWU offensively with 22 points to go with seven rebounds, while
Connor Platz(Langley) added 16 points and eight boards.
The Broncos shot 56.8 per cent (21-37) from 3-point range and 62.8 per cent (54-86) overall, while TWU shot 31.6 (6-19) from beyond the arc and 40.0 (22-55) overall.

Trevor Pridie – TWU Head Coach
"It's so early, so it's hard to read into a game like this too much, but we had a chance to see a few guys and see what they can do. We're missing a couple of key pieces and we haven't practiced much at this point, but Boise State is a really good team. They're big and they're skilled, they're well-coached and obviously they shoot the ball well. Overall, it was a really cool experience for the guys. I thought Vlad (Mihaila, Surrey, B.C.) played really well and he was under control. I thought Juice (Belvin, Long Beach, Calif.) did some really good things and Tyler Sipma, being a freshman, also did some good things out there.
"It was good for the guys to get an experience playing a team of that caliber. Now, we'll watch the film and practice and get ready for another game against UCSB."
