CALGARY, Alberta – The Trinity Western Spartans remain winless in conference play as the Spartans fell 5-1 to the Calgary Dinos Saturday night at the Father David Bauer Arena in Calgary, Alta. The loss the Spartans drop to 0-6 in Canada West, while the Dinos improve to 4-3-1.

Scoring for the Dinos were Jake Gricius with two goals, Zach Wytinck, Carter Massier, and Dylan Sydor.
Second-year goalie
Leon Sommer made 33 saves in the Spartans loss, while Calgary's Connor Martin made 16 saves in the Dinos win.

The Spartans will now host the Regina Cougars on November 1-2. Friday's game will be at 7:15 p.m. (PT) at the George Preston Arena, and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. (PT) at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Arena. Both games can be seen live on Canada West TV.

AS IT HAPPENED
The game was evenly played for much of the contest. Calgary's Zach Wytinck got the opening goal at 17:33 of the opening period to put Calgary up 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. The Dinos out shot the Spartans 18-4 in the opening period.
The second period was scoreless for over 19 minutes until Calgary's Jake Gricius scored with 15 seconds remaining to put the Dinos up 2-0 heading into the second intermission. Calgary outshot TWU 11-5 in the second period.
The Dinos Carter Massier made it 3-0 for the Dinos when he found the back of the net at 8:49 of the final period. Dylan Sydor made it a 4-0 at 11:49 of the final period. TWU finally got on the board with
Luke Spadafora's goal at 12:27. The Dinos Jake Gricius put the game away for the Dinos with an empty net goal at 19:03, with TWU on the power play.
