QUOTABLE
Mike Shearon, TWU Head Coach
"Obviously a disappointing loss, especially when we're trying to fight to remain relevant in the playoff picture. Played a good team, the number one team in the country, for a reason. They played really well tonight, and unfortunately, we couldn't match it. The good news is that there were some bright spots, and hopefully, tomorrow, those bright spots will allow us to be able to put in a performance against UVIC and keep us in the playoff picture."

AS IT HAPPENED
The Thunderbirds opened the scoring in the 22nd minute off an own goal on a cross from UBC's Nicolas Nadeau. The Thunderbirds made it a two-goal game in the 42nd minute. UBC's Mann converted a pass from Markus Kaiser to beat TWU's Silwamba and put UBC up 2-0 with three minutes remaining in the half.

The Spartans improved their play in the second half, outshooting the Thunderbirds 5-4 in total shots and a 5-0 edge in corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net as UBC prevailed 2-0.
