LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western fourth-year forward
Sophie Crowther (New Westminster, B.C.) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a U SPORTS Bronze medal this past week at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont.
In Thursday's quarter-final match, the education student finished with two goals and one assist in the Spartans' come-from-behind 3-1 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues. The win put the Spartans into the medal round and the U SPORTS semi-final.
After a 4-0 loss to eventual U SPORTS champion Montreal Carabins in the semifinal, the Spartans were awarded the U SPORTS bronze medal as a result of Sunday's bronze medal match being cancelled because of snow.
