CROWTHER NAMED SECOND TEAM ALL-CANADIAN

HAMILTON, Ont. – Trinity Western women's soccer fourth-year forward/midfield Sophie Crowther (New Westminster, B.C.) was named U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian at the All-Canadian Awards Banquet in Hamilton, Ont., the site of the 2025 championship tournament.

Crowther had a dominant offensive season this year, leading Canada West in points (19) and tying the Canada West single-season assists record, with 13. This is the second time Crowther has been honoured at the All-Canadian awards banquet. In 2022, she was named U SPORTS Rookie of the Year.

The No. 6-seeded Spartans open the U SPORTS Championship on Thursday with a quarter-final matchup against the No. 3 Toronto Varsity Blues at 5 p.m. (ET) at the Ron Joyce Stadium at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont. All games can be seen on all CBC Sports digital platforms, including the CBC Sports YouTube channel.

About Spartan Athletics
As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as in the NAIA in track and field and cross country and as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 14 U SPORTS team championships and 33 Canada West team championships.
