LANGLEY, British Columbia –The Trinity Western Spartans were overpowered by the No. 2 Calgary Dinos on Friday night as the Spartans lost 6-0 to the visiting Dinos at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. The defeat drops the Spartans to 1-9-1-0, while the win improves the Dinos to 11-2-0-0.
The Dinos controlled the opening 20 minutes, outshooting TWU 18-7, and went into the first intermission with a 4-0 lead. Calgary got another goal in the second to lead 5-0 after two periods.
Scoring for the Dinos were Adam Kydd, with his sixth of the year, Mack Stewart, with his fifth of the year, Tre Fouquette, with his second of the year; Gavin Schmidt, with his fifth of the year, Connor Horning, with his fourth of the year; and Hayden Pakkala, with his seventh of the year.
Trinity Western's fourth-year goalie Rahael Audet (Rimouski, QC), with 14 saves in 20 minutes, and third-year goalie
Leon Sommer (Linz, Austria), with 29 saves in 40 minutes, combined to make 43 saves in the Spartans' loss. Calgary's Carl Stankowski made 22 saves in the Dinos shutout win.

The Spartans will now finish the home stand against the Dinos tomorrow night at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre. Game time is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
