Cory Schoenherr (Waterloo, Ont.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a big win over the former No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds at home this past weekend.
On Friday night, the business student had a career high 12 kills and 19.5 points, and a season high eight blocks to go with three service aces to pace the Spartans to an epic five-set victory over the UBC Thunderbirds on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.
Schoenherr and the Spartans will finish the home-and-home series next week at War Memorial Gym in Vancouver, BC. Match time on Friday, November 21 is set for 5:30 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
