Shane Wiebe, TWU Head Coach
"It was a great day here in Tallahassee. There are some mixed emotions amongst the athletes, but as coaches, we're feeling that a ninth-place finish as a team on the men's side is a very good result for our first year in NAIA. The quality of running here is definitely higher and for us to do as well as we did is a testament to the hard work the athletes have put in and the great coaching they've been getting from Sarah Inglis and our other middle distance coaches. Kudos to Yemane. He just didn't have the gas in the last 500 metres to overtake the leaders, but he was in the main pack the whole way. David Mutai had the race of his life today and even some of our other guys like Malcolm and Brendan had great races. For
Ava Rodway, as a freshman, it was a positive experience for her to go through and learn what it's like to compete in a national championship. Overall, as coaches, we're happy with today's efforts. It's been a great experience and it's been a first-class event."
