SPARTAN FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK I KATE FAWCETT

LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western fifth-year goalie Kate Fawcett is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after making 30 saves in the Spartans' 3-2 loss to the No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds this past weekend.
 
On Friday afternoon, the human kinetics student turned away 30 shots, posting a .909 save percentage, in the Spartans' 3-2 loss. Fawcett is currently tied for fifth in Canada West with five wins.
 
Fawcett and the Spartans will now take a break for Christmas. TWU's next games are at home against the MacEwan Griffins. The games at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C., are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. (PT) on both days and can be seen live on Canada West TV.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
