LANGLEY, British Columbia—Trinity Western third-year defender Jacob Visser (St. Catharines, Ont.) has been named the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after an All-American award-winning performance at the Collegiate Disc Golf National Championships at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
 
The social science student finished in 15th spot out of 745 players in singles play to become the first Spartan to earn second-team All-American honours. Visser also helped lead the Spartans to a 37th-place finish out of 200 teams.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 13 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf.
