SPARTANS SIT THREE STROKES BACK IN CHASE FOR DIVISION 1 BERTH TO NATIONALS

ESTACADA, Ore. – Trinity Western's top men's team put together a team score of two under par and continues to be three strokes back of third place in Division 1 through two days at the Cascadia Collegiate Invitational. The top three teams at the event earn a Division 1 berth at nationals.

The men's team competing in Division 2 at the Cascadia Collegiate Invitational shot one under par, which has them sitting in third place after the first two days of competition.

The men's team competing in Division 1 includes Jacob Visser, Owen Field, Everett Dabbagh and Zach Ruptash. The men's team competing in Division 2 includes Ben Brandsma, Mattias Huberts, Ayden Tweedle and Bailey Neufeld.

TWU's women's team competed in a non-collegiate event, with Verity White scoring a round rating 89 points above her player rating. Her round was 48 points better than her personal best-ever round rating.

Chris Hartmann, TWU Head Coach
"There's some work to do tomorrow, but the guys still feel they can better their score by a few strokes tomorrow and challenge for that spot. Both guys teams just didn't quite get things rolling today, struggling a little with consistency in several areas of their game, but we look forward to finishing with great final rounds.

"Verity's performance was remarkable – blowing past her personal best, which was so impressive."
