SPARTANS SENIOR NIGHT SPOILED BY GRIFFINS

LANGLEY – The Trinity Western Spartans senior night celebration was spoiled by the MacEwan Griffins on Saturday, losing with a final score of 6-1.

The Spartans couldn't seem to get the goal scoring success that they had found the night prior, as the Griffins had their way with the game from the jump. Goaltender Leon Sommers (Linz, AUS) made a total of 60 saves on the night, but conceded 6 goals.

Aiden Knutson (Red Deer, Alberta) was the only Spartan to find the back of the net, scoring his third goal of the weekend. For the Griffins, they saw six different players light the lamp. Brett Bamber opened the scoring, followed by Ethan Sudnar. In the third period, the floodgates opened, with the Griffins scoring four of their six. Sam Simrad, Rhett Dekowney, Kadyn Chabot, and Brendan Boyle were the goal scorers.

The loss drops the Spartans to 3-20-3-0, while the win improves the Griffins to 11-15-0.
