LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western fourth-year outside hitter Kaden Schmidt (Mississauga, Ont.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Spartans to a weekend sweep of the Saskatchewan Huskies this past weekend at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.
 
In Friday's 3-1 win over the Huskies the education student led the Spartans with 24 kills, five digs and two blocks in the win. Then on Saturday in the Spartans 3-0 win over the Huskies, Schmidt had 20 kills, while hitting an amazing .472 to go with four digs.
 
Schmidt and the rest of the Spartans will now host the Mount Royal Cougars on February 13-14 for the final conference games of the season. Both games will be streamed live on Canada West TV.
