LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western fifth-year setter
Anselm Rein (Erfurt, Germany) is the Spartans Male Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Spartans to a U SPORTS National Championship this past weekend at the Toldo Lancer Centre in Windsor, Ont.
The biology student was named the tournament MVP with the Spartans winning their eighth U SPORTS championship in the program's history. Rein finished the weekend with 122 set assists, 20 digs, five kills, four blocks, and one service ace over the three matches.
The Spartans won the championship by beating UBC 3-2 in the title match. TWU advanced to the final by beating the Western Mustangs 3-0 and the Windsor Lancers 3-1 in the semifinals.
