SPARTAN FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK I CHARLOTTE DYCK

LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western first-year sprinter Charlotte Dyck (Abbotsford, B.C.) is the Spartans Female Athlete of the Week after breaking the TWU program record for the 100m at the TWU Open this past Saturday at McLeod Park in Langley, B.C.
 
The International Development student broke the 12-year-old mark in the 100m with a time of 12.12. The time bettered the previous record of 12.32, set by Liza Whitehead on May 1, 2014.
 
Dyck and the rest of the Spartans' full Track and Field team will next compete at the Pee Wee Halsell Invitational in Bellingham, Wash., on April 24, and at the Ralph Vernacchia Invitational on April 25.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes in the NAIA in track and field, cross country, and as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 15 U SPORTS team championships and 34 Canada West team championships.
