ROCK HILL, South Carolina – Trinity Western third-year
Hannah Porter (Lethbridge, Alta.) finished 27 holes of singles play in 12th place (68 competitors) at this year's Championship in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Porter missed out on All-American status by just one stroke.
Second-year
Verity White (Vernon, B.C.) finished 32nd, and together, Porter and White will enter the final three rounds of team play starting at 7th place at +9. The pair trails Liberty University and Emporia State University by nine strokes, who are tied for top spot at even par.
QUOTABLE
Chris Hartman – TWU head coach
"Hannah's play was impressive in fairly strong winds and on a course that requires throwing with precision through narrow gaps between trees on many of the holes, with many sloping fairways. Hannah's play was especially strong today as she managed the wind by throwing low control shots to minimize the effect of the wind on the flight of her discs. I'm really pleased with her decision-making today and adjustments to the wind."
