ASHEVILLE, NC – Trinity Western's
Sheleena Wiley finished seventh in long jump to lead the Spartans on the first day of the NAIA Track & Field Championships Wednesday at Karl Straus Track.
Wiley jumped 5.79m to pick up the Spartans their first two points of the national championships.
Claire Nichol sits 15th overall through the first day of the heptathlon with 2,637 points, while
Sarah Ude had a hammer throw of 43.89m to finish 27th overall.
On the men's side, Danny Earles finished 17th in the 200m with a time of 21.65.
Due to heavy rain and lightning in the area, the 3000m steeplechase, which TWU's Malcolm Reid will run in, was postponed until Thursday, as was the 10,000m, which will feature the Spartans David Mutai.
