LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western third-year guard Cassidy Buchanan (Aldergrove, B.C.) has been named the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after hitting 25 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists, and three steals to help lead the Spartans to a weekend sweep of the UNBC Timberwolves.
On Friday night the human kinetics student had 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the Spartans 70-63 win over the Timberwolves at the Langley Events Centre, in Langley, B.C. Then on Saturday night, Buchanan went for 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in the TWU 65-53 win over UNBC.
Buchanan and the rest of the Spartans will finish the Canada West conference play next weekend in Abbotsford, B.C. against the Fraser Valley Cascades on Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15. Game times are set for 6 p.m. and 3 p.m. and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
