LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western forward Marc Huizenga (Vancouver, BC) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after scoring twice and adding an assist to help the Spartans earn four points against the Lethbridge Pronghorns and Saskatchewan Huskies.

The second-year human kinetics student earned and converted a penalty in the 55th minute of Friday’s 2-2 draw with Lethbridge at Chase Office Field in Langley, B.C. Huizenga played 65 minutes and put his lone shot on target.

On Saturday, Huizenga assisted on Tim Pritchard’s eighth-minute opener before scoring the winning goal in the 73rd minute of a 2-1 victory over Saskatchewan. Taking a pass from Jordan Low, he curled a shot from the left side inside the far post. Huizenga finished with two shots, one on target, in 83 minutes.

The 4-6-2 Spartans have next weekend off before hosting UBC Okanagan on Friday, October 16, and Thompson Rivers on Saturday, October 17, at Chase Office Field. Both matches begin at 7:15 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
