Nuttall, who is still on the road to recovery from injury, cleared 1.73m on her first attempt to put herself in the driver's seat for the rest of the competition. Toronto's Danielle Delage, who had a total of four misses before making 1.73m, failed to clear 1.76m, which allowed Nuttall, who missed twice at 1.76m, to retire from the competition as the gold medallist.
Fellow Spartan and Canada West silver medallist Hazel Ross (Bishopton, Scotland) finished eighth after clearing 1.62m.
On the track, TWU's Regan Yee (South Hazelton, B.C.) earned her second CIS medal in as many days as she captured bronze in the 1500m with a time of 4:26.02. Teammate Mirelle Martens (Grande Prairie, Alta.) finished ninth in the 1500m in 4:35.71.
On the men's side, the Spartans 4x400m team was eighth in 3:20.12.
The Spartans finished the national championships with four medals, including three gold – Nathan George (Coquitlam, B.C.) in the 300m, Yee in the 3000m and Nuttall – and one bronze.
As a team, the Spartans women's team finished eighth with 35.5 points while the men were 16th with 17 points.
