LANGLEY, B.C. – The Spartans men's soccer team will look to get back on track after a pair of tough losses as they conclude their regular season at home against UBC Friday (Oct. 18) and Victoria Saturday (Oct. 19) at Chase Office Field.

THE WEEKEND STORY
- The Spartans are set to conclude their regular season on a winning note, hosting cross town rival UBC (9-1-3) and Victoria (7-5-1).
- TWU is coming off a pair of tough losses to the UFV Cascades, falling 3-2 at home (Oct. 11) and on the road (Oct. 13).
- The Spartans will be in tough, as both the Thunderbirds and Vikes sit in first and second place in the Canada West Pacific division, respectively.
- Cody Fransen leads the Spartans with six goals on the season, good for fifth across Canada West.
- Vikes midfielder Isaac Koch leads the Victoria attack with a Canada West leading 16 points (8G, 8A), while UBC forward Victory Shumbusho leads the conference in goals (9).
- TWU opened the season with a 3-0 loss against the Vikes on the road (Aug. 23), and fell to UBC 3-2 on the road two days later (Aug. 25).
- A win against the Thunderbirds would mark the first time since two years TWU would achieve the feat, while the Spartans will also look to improve on an all-time home record of 10-6-2 against the Vikes Saturday.

About Spartan Athletics
As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL) in men's hockey and as an independent team in men's rugby. The men's and women's hockey programs will begin playing in Canada West and U SPORTS in 2020-21.
