LANGLEY, B.C. – Alina Olson (Abbotsford, B.C.) is this week's Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after a stellar season-opening performance at the Golden Bear Open this past weekend.
Olson made no mistake in her first indoor competition as a Spartan, finishing fourth in the 60m with a 7.80 on Saturday. The previous day, Olson set her fastest time of the weekend in the 60m with a 7.69. Olson's 7.69 set in the 60m preliminaries on Friday pitted her performance as TWU's fastest women's time since 2015.
With an impressive weekend in the 60m completed, Olson kept on doing her thing, finishing second in the 4x200m alongside
Katie Tancsics (Edmonton),
Grace Konrad (Edmonton), and
Sheleena Wiley (Langley, B.C.).
After her first indoor event with the Spartans, Olson is now ranked second in Canada West, and eighth in U SPORTS for the women's 60m event via trackie.ca.
Olson and her fellow Spartans will travel to Kamloops, B.C. to take on the Gary Reed Indoor Invitational at Thompson Rivers University on Feb. 4
th and 5
th.
