EDMONTON – Trinity Western's men's long jumpers had an impressive day to help lead the Spartans at the Golden Bears Open, as
Oke Okumo (Langley, B.C.) finished fourth with a jump of 6.83m Friday at the Universiade Pavilion. Meanwhile, first-year
Caleb Emon (Prince George, B.C.) jumped 6.72m and Romain Tourveille de Labrouhe (Richmond, B.C.) jumped 6.70m.
Brandon Gremaud (Kamloops, B.C.), who was last year's Canada West gold medallist had a strong first day in the heptathlon, as he sits in first through four events. His day was highlighted by clearing 1.88m in high jump.
On the women's side, Nikita Bradshaw (Pickering, Ont.) broke her own Spartans record in the pentathlon, scoring 3,541 points to finish fifth overall at the Golden Bears Open
Bradshaw's top two pentathlon results on the day were third place results in high jump (1.62m) and long jump (5.51m), as she bettered her previous TWU record of 3,450 points, which she scored at the 2023 Canada West Championship.

TWU will compete in the Golden Bears Open Saturday in Edmonton.
