NANKIVELL WINS 3000M AT INLAND NORTHWEST INVITATIONAL

SPOKANE, Wash. – Trinity Western's Constance Nankivell (Edinburgh, Scotland) won the 3000m in her first-ever indoor meet with the Spartans, crossing the line in 9:43.14 at the Inland Northwest Invitational Saturday at The Podium.

In the field, Eileen Noordam (Abbotsford, B.C.) posted a personal best shot put with a mark of 11.75m.

On the men's side, sprinter Kenny Blackman Jr. (Surrey, B.C.) ran a huge personal best in the 60m, clocking a time of 6.81

Blackman Jr.'s previous best was 6.88, which he ran Feb. 2, 2023 at the Harry Jerome Indoor Games. He ran his personal best to finish second in the preliminaries before ultimately finishing fifth after running 6.93 in the final.

Branden Gremaud (Kamloops, B.C.), who was last year's Canada West champion in heptathlon, had a pair of big personal bests as well, running 8.49 in the 60m hurdles and clearing 4.21m in pole vault.

In long jump, Oke Okumo (Airdrie, Alta.) earned a season's best mark of 6.92m to finished second overall.
