SEATTLE – Trinity Western's
Nicolas Martin Huerta (Santiago, Chile) vaulted 4.92m to move himself alone atop the U SPORTS rankings after finishing seventh overall at the Husky Classic Friday at the Dempsey Indoor.
Martin Huerta had previously vaulted 4.90m, which had him tied for first, but his performance in Seattle gave him sole possession of top spot in the national rankings.
On the women's side, Constance Nankivell (Edinburgh, Scotland) led the Spartans, as she put herself into the top 10 of the U SPORTS rankings for the 3000m after running 9:34.62 to finish 53rd overall. Her performance shaved nine seconds off her season-opening result of 9:43.14, which she ran Jan. 27 in Spokane, Wahsh.
