Andrew Evans, TWU Head Coach
"The score may not reflect the match, as we had a good amount of pressure and possession against the Pride, who had a number of players back from the national team. Today,
Beckham Dickie (Surrey, B.C.) was voted best back in his debut for our first team. Genaro and Caleb Van Til (Tsawwassen, B.C.) put in 80-minute performances.
Martin Zubiri (Pergamino, Argentina) added great energy off the bench and helped to mess up the Pride lineout.
"We had a number of attacks that we just lacked the finishing touch to score more tries. Our players and staff have been working incredibly hard for the past month and a half. We will now take a week to refresh during our bye week ahead of playing UBC, University of Washington (2nd XVs) and UVIC.
"Finally, we are encouraged by our Spartans who have helped the FVRU U20s into the Dunbar Keg final after they beat the Crimson Tide U20s 39-12 on the Island. Spartan fans can cheer U20 captain
Liam Olafsen and the team on October 5th at the Langley Rugby Club."
