LANGLEY - Trinity Western completed their first weekend sweep of the season, knocking off the UBCO Heat 88-63.
Â
After a dominant win the night before, the Spartans were looking dangerous once again on the offensive end, with this being the second game in a row scoring 85+ points. It was a second half explosion that helped the Spartans secure the win, as they put up 56 over the last two quarters.Â
Â
It was rookie Logan Stewart (Langley, B.C.) who led the Spartans in scoring, with a crazy efficient 19 points, going 5-6 from the field in only 23 minutes. Connor Platz (Langley, B.C.) matched Stewart's total of 19 points, and was two rebounds shy of a double double. For the Heat, Jalen Shirley led the way with a game high 20 points.Â

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Trevor Pridie,Â
"The guys earned this weekend. They played hard from start to finish both nights, played with toughness, and stayed locked in through every run. More importantly, I feel like we started to find ourselves again. The pace, toughness, energy, the togetherness, that's who we are. I'm proud of the way we competed.Â
Â
We had so many guys play well this weekend, the bench was fantastic both nights. David had his best weekend of the season and is starting to get healthy and find his groove. Connor was dominant all weekend and I thought Jack was fantastic on both ends, he really guarded well this weekend. Also, shoutout to Logan on a breakout game today, he is going to be a great player in this league for years to come."
