LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western came back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to earn a 3-2 (25-27, 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 15-13) win over Thompson Rivers Friday at the on-campus David E. Enarson Gym.
After rallying to force a fifth set, the Spartans took control early in the final set, staking themselves to a 10-6 lead.
The WolfPack took the first set 27-25, but the Spartans responded with a convincing six-point win in the second set. TRU edged the Spartans by two in the third set, but the home side bounced back with another six-point win in the fourth – capped by an impressive serving run from

Adam Schriemer, TWU Head Coach
"When we play exhibition games after having only trained for a little bit together, we want to see the team applying the things we've been working on and, for the most part, we saw that today. I thought our offensive tempo was where we wanted it to be and Anselm was really dialed in to what we wanted our offence to look like today. It was just that the execution wasn't always there. I'm really happy with how we served today. I thought tonight Liam (Rempel), Anselm (Rein) and Chuck (Yewchuck) had great serving nights. Not that the other guys had bad nights, but they didn't need to serve great because we were getting results from other guys. Our biggest issue was that we didn't block the ball well tonight.
"It was great to play in the Enarson and to play great time like TRU. I thought they're setter and their outside hitter were awesome tonight and they made our life really hard. We always play to win, so we're happy to come out with a win."
