AS IT HAPPENED
The Huskies looked strong early in Saturday's contest, pushing the pace and generating several rushes into the Spartans' end of the pitch. Despite the pressure from Saskatchewan, Trinity Western was awarded an early free kick within striking distance. Charles Nana made no mistake on the scoring opportunity, slipping the ball just inside the post and out of the reach of a diving Jaron Slopinski. Turning away a pair of dangerous scoring opportunities from the Huskies, including a Malcolm Rektor shot that hit the post, TWU would enter the half with the advantage.

The second half saw the home team pick up right where they left off, and in the 54th minute, they were rewarded with a corner kick following a shot attempt from Dante Molina. With Molina on the corner kick, the ball ricocheted off a pair of bodies before finding an open Rowan Gresty, who fired a rocket past a diving Peter Rogenthien. The tying goal was the first of Gresty's career, coming in the freshman's third career match. Just minutes later, the Dogs were back on the attack when captain Ethan Cabral found Tao Hein streaking through a pair of Spartan defenders. Hein would take a few steps before beating the attacking keeper for his second of the season.
