SPARTANS BEAT GUELPH IN THREE

GUELPH, Ont. – Trinity Western won its third match in three days over OUA competition, beating Guelph 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-15) Saturday at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre.

The Spartans were coming off back-to-back wins over the University of Windsor.

TWU is now 4-0 in preseason, including a victory over Thompson Rivers to open the preseason.

QUOTABLE
Adam Schriemer, TWU Head Coach
"I was really pleased with our sideout game today and our serving game. It was good to see Chuck (Zack Yewchuk) heat up from the line and Anselm was great. When we're siding out at this efficiency, it makes us hard to play against. Anselm has been so dialed in and we saw two more elite performances from Kaden and Piers, which was fun to watch. I think we have to clean up our block defence a lot if we want to be more consistent, but we're getting there and we'll get better."

UP NEXT
The Spartans will play Waterloo (Sept. 28) to wrap up a four-match trip to Ontario.
