TOP TEN RANKINGS

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western Spartans have moved up one spot to No.7 in the women's soccer U SPORTS Top 10 ranking. The Spartans moved up after defeating the Thompson Rivers WolfPack (2-1) and the UBC Okanagan Heat (1-0) this past weekend at Chase Office Field. In the men's rugby, the Spartans drop one spot from No. 6 to No. 7 in the CUMR coaches' ranking after a 57-19 loss to the Victoria Vikes this past weekend at Yorkson Community Park in Langley, B.C.
 


 
The 6-2-0 Spartans will now head on the road for a doubleheader at the UNBC Timberwolves on October 3 and October 5 in Prince George, B.C.  Game time is set for 6 p.m. (PT) and 12 p.m. (PT) kickoffs, and the game can be seen live on CanadaWest.TV.
 
The 2-3 Spartans' next Coastal Cup match will be at home on October 11, when they will host the UBC Thunderbirds. Match time at Yorkson Community Park is set for 2:30 p.m. (PT)

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as in the NAIA in track and field and cross country and as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 14 U SPORTS team championships and 33 Canada West team championships.
