LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western Spartans extended their winning streak to four games with a 58-47 win over the Fraser Valley Cascades Friday night at the UFV Gym in Abbotsford, B.C. The win improves the Spartans to 14-5, while the loss drops the Cascades to 8-10.
The Spartans had balanced scoring and defence throughout the game, winning each of the four quarter. TWU led 30-23 at the half, and 42-33 after 30 minutes before securing the 11-point win.
Fourth-year guard
Cassidy Buchanan (Aldergrove, B.C.) with 14 points and six rebounds, fourth-year forward
Myrlaine Shelvey (Langley, B.C.) with 10 points and two steals led the Spartans.
Julia Tuchscherer with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocks, and Fania Taylor with 12 points, Esther Allison with 10 points, three rebounds, and two steals led the Cascades.

The Spartans will now finish off Canada West conference play at the UBC Okanagan Heat in Kelowna, B.C., on January 31 at 6 p.m. (PT); the game can be seen live on Canada West TV.
TWU will host the Canada West quarter finals and play-in games on February 13-14 at the Langley Events Centre.
