Erica Udoh, who won a bronze medal at the Canada West championships, finished 10th overall in weight throw with a mark of 15.48m as the Spartans lone female competitor on the first day of the U SPORTS Track & Field Championships Thursday at the James Daly Fieldhouse.
On the men's side, Dajean Clarke sits second in the heptathlon at the U SPORTS Track and Field Championships after scoring 3,047 points through four events on Day 1 Thursday at the James Daly Fieldhouse.
The two-time reigning Canada West heptathlon champion bettered his Day 1 totals from the 2025 conference championships by 59 points on a day when he set the U SPORTS long jump record in the heptathlon with a jump of 7.17m. Clarke is 112 points ahead of his Day 1 total at last year's national championships. Clarke finished sixth in the heptathlon in 2025. He will compete on Day 2 of the heptathlon Friday, with the 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m yet to come.
Along with Clarke, the rest of the Spartans championship schedule sees Danny Earles ready to compete in the 300m Friday, while Jaime Edurdo Martin Huerta will compete in pole vault and
Sheleena Wiley will compete in triple jump on Saturday.
