LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western’s Jayden Gill (Abbotsford, B.C.) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week. Gill had an impressive weekend averaging 25 points per game and 5.5 assists per game to lead the Spartans to a record-breaking sweep of the Brandon Bobcats this past weekend in Brandon, Man.
On Friday night the fourth-year guard tied a career-high 30 points, shooting 70.6 percent from the field, with four rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots in TWU’s record-breaking 111-58 win. On Saturday night the Human Kinetics student scored 20 points with seven assists and five steals to lead the Spartans to an 80-65 victory as TWU remained unbeaten at 6-0.
Gill is currently third in Canada West in scoring at 18.0 points per game, 10th in blocks with seven, fourth in assists with 28, and sixth in free throw percentage at 82.6.
The Spartans will now return home and host the Manitoba Bisons for the final games of the first semester on December 1-2. Game time is set for 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. and can be seen live on Canadawest.TV.
