LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western fifth-year guard Josh Belvin (Long Beach, Calf.) has been named the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after scoring 42 points, with 11 rebounds, in the Spartans weekend losses to the No. 1 Victoria Vikes this past weekend in Victoria, B.C.
The communications student had 16 points, and six rebounds in Friday’s 75-63 loss. Then on Saturday, he had a season-high with 26 points, shooting 10-14 from the field, with five rebounds and three assists in TWU’s 85-76 loss to Victoria
Belvin and the rest of the Spartans will stay on the road next week for a tough road split between the Thompson Rivers WolfPack and the UNBC Timberwolves. TWU will be in Kamloops, B.C. against the WolfPack for a 7:30 p.m. game on Thursday, January 16, and then take on the Timberwolves in Prince George, B.C. on Saturday, January 18 at 7 p.m. Both games can be seen live on Canada West TV.
