LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western forward Sophie Crowther (New Westminster, BC) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after helping the Spartans to a four-point weekend with a win over UNBC and a tie against Victoria.
 
The fifth-year education student had one shot and played 61 minutes in the Spartans' 1-0 win over the UNBC Timberwolves on Friday night in Prince George, B.C. Then on Sunday afternoon, Crowther had a goal with five total shots in the Spartans' 2-2 draw with the Victoria Vikes in Victoria, B.C. With her goal, Crowther now has 50 career points, tying Carlee O'Brien ('07), for fourth place on the Spartans' career points list. TWU's Seina Kashima ('18) holds the Spartan record for career points with 58. Crowther also has 31 career assists in conference play and sits in second place in Canada West for the all-time career assist mark, trailing only Kashima’s 40 career assists.
 
Crowther and the Spartans will now head back home to Chase Office Field in Langley, B.C., to host the Victoria Vikes on Friday, September 18, and the UNBC Timberwolves on Saturday, September 19, in a repeat of this weekend's road matches. Both matches kick off at 5 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
