ESHENKO HONOURED WITH COMPLETE CHAMPION AWARD

LANGLEY, B.C. – Pearce Eshenko (Banff, Alta.) is a winner of the Complete Champion Award – the most prestigious honour a Spartan athlete can earn over his or her career at TWU.

Eshenko finished his five years as one of the winningest players in Spartans history having helped TWU to three national championships and four conference championships in his five-year career. He capped his career by being the only middle named to a Canada West All-Star team this year after leading Canada West and U SPORTS in blocking, averaging 1.42 blocks per set.

All told, Eshenko played in every single possible final in his five years, playing in the U SPORTS and Canada West finals every single year up until this year's national championship tournament was cancelled due the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eshenko, who recently won the Spartans 2019-20 Scholar-Athlete Award, is on his way to becoming an Academic All-Canadian for the fifth straight year, as he is on the verge of completing his degree in Human Kinetics. He is one of the men's volleyball team's spiritual leaders, hosting a team Alpha study while also leading the team's Bible study. Over his time with the team, he has developed into one of the Spartans culture carriers and a strong leader within the program. He is regularly involved in community service initiatives and consistently volunteered his time within the Spartans Athletic Department as well as the broader community.
