LOEPPKY HONOURED WITH COMPLETE CHAMPION AWARD

LANGLEY, B.C. – Eric Loeppky (Steinbach, Man.) is a winner of the Complete Champion Award – the most prestigious honour a Spartan athlete can earn over his or her career at TWU.

Loeppky, who was recently named the Spartans Male Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row, leaves TWU as arguably the greatest player in the prestigious history of the men's volleyball program.

The three-time First Team All-Canadian capped his on-court career by being named the Canada West and U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Player of the Year after a remarkable season in which he hit .443 as the Spartans go-to option on the outside. His final, he helped TWU capture the Canada West title for the third time in his career with a Spartans team that was ranked No. 1 the country all season.

Loeppky finished his four years at TWU having played in every possible conference final and national final, winning the U SPORTS title in both 2017 and 2019. He missed the opportunity for a third national crown when the U SPORTS Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He finished his career in the top 10 in Canada West All-Time career history in kills per set, total kills, points per set, total points, aces per set and total aces.

Academically, Loeppky did what few others in his position would have done and deferred more than a few high-profile professional contracts over the past two years to return to TWU to finish his undergraduate degree in Education. Over his time at TWU, Loeppky developed spiritually in way that has him pursuing his faith more than ever as he moves on from his time as a Spartan. Loeppky is a person who invests in his teammates lives and works hard to be the ultimate teammate and friend. He has continually led by example through his hard work and determination to be at his very best version of himself every time he walks into a gym.
