LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western's Mathias Elser (Calgary) is this week's Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after his superb performance at the Blue Team Cup.
 
Elser was strong in TWU's victories over Alberta and Mount Royal over the weekend, compiling 14 kills on an attacking efficiency of 36 percent, 8 aces, and 24 total points scored through seven sets of play. Commonly known as a multi-talented volleyball player, Elser did all of this in three different positions on the court.
 
The Spartans reigned victorious at the Blue Team Cup thanks to performances from Elser, and many others. TWU opens their Canada West campaign this weekend at the Langley Events Centre against Thompsons Rivers.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 13 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
