LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western left-side Brodie Hofer (Langley, B.C.) is this week's Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after giving UBC's defensive core a tough time over the past weekend.
 
It is no secret that Hofer hits a heavy ball as he certainly did so against the no. 8 ranked Thunderbirds after the weekend sweep. Hofer put down a game-high of 12 kills in Friday's straight-set victory over UBC. Although the third-year's attacking was impressive, Hofer's match ended as a well-rounded one, amassing game-highs in aces (3) and digs (5) as well.

Saturday night saw the left-side continue his weekend of sheer attacking strength, leading the game with 13 kills throughout all four sets the Spartans played.
 
With two more victories under their belt, Hofer and TWU's men's volleyball team have improved to 4-0 throughout their 2021-22 Canada West campaign. Hofer has led the Spartans in kills through all four matches played, being a key contributor in TWU's strong start.
 
Aside from Canada West play, the Spartans now boast a total record of 23-4 since their preseason action started on Sept. 3^rd. The Spartans have played their fair share of volleyball since then, representing Canada at the Pan-American Cup (5-2), then sweeping the FOG Classic (3-0), Blue Team Cup (2-0), and sweeping all six exhibition games. Before the UBC series, the Spartans were most recently seen on their California Tour (5-2) where they played against some of the NCAA's finest programs, such as UCLA, Pepperdine, Long Beach State, and UC Santa Barbara.
