LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western outside
Brodie Hofer (Langley, B.C.) is this week's Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after leading the offensive charge for the Spartans in their home opening weekend against Thompson Rivers.
Hofer and the Spartans were expectedly strong this past weekend, sweeping TRU on both Friday and Saturday.
With a large variance of Spartans hitting the court at the Langley Events Centre this weekend, Hofer's offensive surge saw him put down 18 kills throughout the two games. Known to hit a powerful ball, TRU didn't have any answers when it came to slowing down Hofer as the third-year hit the ball efficiently, achieving a .394 hitting efficiency over the two weekend matches.
Hofer wasn't the only Spartan who hit the ball efficiently, as the entire team combined for a hitting percentage of .627 in Friday's victory over the Wolfpack.
With talent coming from every end of the court, the Spartans are set to continue their Canada West campaign on Nov. 26
th against UBC at the Langley Events Centre.
