Adam Schriemer, TWU Head Coach
"Today, at War Memorial, it was great for our guys to play real volleyball. That's the best part about Canada West - the quality of our opponents are so high and we saw that today. UBC blocked the ball incredibly well and we failed to adjust offensively. Their service put us under a lot of pressure, which led to our offensive struggles. In Canada West, there's certain metrics you have to hit with serving and spiking and we didn't hit any of them today. When you give your opponents that many points, you'll never win. The nice part is that preseason is about preparation and lessons and the goal is to learn from these lessons and play better tomorrow."

The Spartans will continue to play in the Blue Team Cup Friday against UBC Okanagan and Saturday against Mount Royal. Both matches are at the Langley Events Centre at 5 p.m.
