LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western fourth-year guard
Cassidy Buchanan (Aldergrove, B.C.) has been named the Canada West BioSteel women's basketball player of the Week.
Oct. 24 at VIC: 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists in 76-67 win
Oct. 25 vs UBC: 28 points, 5 steals, 3 assists, 2 rebounds in 62-50 loss
The human kinetics student averaged a Canada West leading 24.5 points per game over the weekend, including 21 points against Victoria and a career-high 28 of the Spartans' 50 points against the now No. 4-ranked UBC Thunderbirds. She also averaged 4.5 steals per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Buchanan and the Spartans will now host the Fraser Valley Cascades this Friday and Saturday at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. Game times are set for 6 p.m. (PT) and 4 p.m. (PT) respectively and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
