LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western first-year fly half/inside centre
Kamryn Howlett (Maple Ridge, B.C..) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after finishing the weekend 7's tournament in Edmonton with four tries and eight conversions for 36 points, to help lead the Spartans to a 3-2 third place finish in the opening tournament.
The Spartans defeated the Calgary Dinos 33-12, the Lethbridge Pronghorns 26-14, and Alberta Pandas 38-5, while losing to the UBC Thunderbirds 27-17 and the Victoria Vikes 29-0.
Howell and the rest of the Spartans will have a week off before heading to Victoria for the second 7's tournament of the season on February 7-8. Games will be played at Wallace Field in Victoria, B.C. and streamed live on Canada West TV.
