SPARTANS PLATZ NAMED CANADA WEST ALL-STARS

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western fifth-year centre Connor Platz (Langley, B.C.) has been named a Canada West all-star.

Platz earned his first Canada West all-star by being named a Canada West third-team all-star. The general studies student made his mark defensively, leading Canada West and the Spartans with 68 total blocks, 40 more than the closest competitor in Canada West, while also setting a Canada West and U SPORTS career record in blocks with 237, averaging 2.693 over his career. Platz finishes his career with the three top spots in blocks per season, with 70 in 23-24, 68 this season, and 57 in 22-23. Platz was also fifth in Canada West in rebounds with 7.8 per game while scoring 212 points in conference play.

Platz helped lead the Spartans to a 9-11 conference record and a fifth-place finish in the Pacific Division. The Spartans upset the Mount Royal Cougars 76-68 in the Canada West play-in game before falling to the No. 1 Victoria Vikes 95-67 in the Canada West quarterfinals.
