LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western third-year guard
Jack Vandenberg is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Spartans to two road wins with a weekend sweep over the Fraser Valley Cascades and the UBC Okanagan Heat.
In Friday's 90-88 win over the Cascades in Abbotsford, B.C. the Sports Management student had 15 points, five assists and four rebounds. Then in Saturday's 80-69 win over the Heat in Kelowna, B.C. Vandenberg led the Spartans with 27 points and three rebounds, while shooting 7-11 from the three point line.
The Spartans finish conference play in fifth place in the Pacific Division
Vandenberg and the rest of the Spartans will have a week off before playing in one of the Canada West play-in games on February 13-14. The game will be hosted by the Victoria Vikes, should TWU win they will play the Vikes in the quarter finals. Both games will be streamed live on Canada West TV.
