LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western fourth-year guard Cassidy Buchanan (Aldergrove, B.C.) has been named a Canada West all-star, and rookie forward Moriah Jansen (Spallumcheen, B.C.) has been named to the all-rookie team.
 
Buchanan earned her first Canada West all-star by being named a Canada West second-team all-star. The human kinetics student led the Spartans in scoring, averaging 12.7 points per game (18th in Canada West), shooting 44.6 percent (14th in CW), and recording 10 blocks (10th in CW). Jansen finished fourth on the Spartans in scoring with 159 points, shooting 46.6 percent from the field, third in rebounding with 91, and third in steals with 29.
 
Buchanan and Jansen helped lead the Spartans to a 15-5 conference record and a second-place finish in the Pacific Division. TWU hosted the Canada West play-in and quarter-finals, where they lost 76-47 to the Calgary Dinos in the quarter-final match.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
