Box Score BURNABY, B.C. – Evan Last's (Surrey, B.C.) goal with 4:25 remaining in the third period lifted the Trinity Western men's hockey team to a thrilling 5-4 road win against Simon Fraser at Bill Copeland Arena.

With their fifth consecutive win to open the season, the Spartans improve to 5-0-0-0 and atop the BCIHL standings. SFU dropped to 2-2-0-1 with the loss.

The Spartans then responded three minutes later, with rookie forward Bruce scored his fourth of the year to make it 1-1.

Last season's defenceman-of-the-year Deugau then added another for the Spartans, who took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

Going into the second period the Clan tied it up off a goal from Bergh, before Eli Vilio regained the Spartans lead to make it 3-2.

Simon Fraser once again knotted the game back up into the third period, as Badh scored his second of the game to make it 3-3.

QUOTABLE
Barret Kropf – TWU Head Coach

"Really this was a continuation of last weekend in our team playing a really solid game. I thought we used our speed to push them on their heels at times. We got into some penalty trouble and some injuries which shortened our bench, so it was one of those really effective road wins. It showed some good character in our group, with Isaac making some saves down the stretch to give us a chance to win.

"Everyone really bared down and gained some confidence in knowing that when the team comes out and scores against us, we'll turn back the other way and score, which happened on two occasions tonight. We had to juggle lines because of injuries, but this group faces adversity well. Super proud of everybody, it's a good team effort to get out to a 5-0 start to the season and keep our games in hand to our advantage.

On 100th BCIHL Regular Season Career Win
"This being our 100th win as a coaching staff goes back a long time. Lots of people to thank in the process, being staff over the years and great players that have allowed us to get to this benchmark. At the end of the day it's a team game and we're looking forward to the rest of this season, continuing to put up wins on the board."
